Delivery Models:

  • Individual sessions are one-on-one and tailored specifically to the child.

  • Semi-private lessons include 2-3 students who have similar needs.

  • Small group instruction targets a particular subject, skill, or grade-level review. 4-6 students may participate.

Writing

Reading

For students who are in the early stages of reading, this encompasses foundational skills such as phonological and phonemic awareness, concepts of print, vocabulary development, and listening comprehension. Additional areas of focus for more advanced readers include: phonics, reading fluency, vocabulary, and reading comprehension.

Emergent writers focus on correct letter formation and using inventive spelling and illustrations to communicate ideas in writing. More advanced writers will work on the process of writing (brainstorming, drafting, editing, revising, and publishing). Grammar may be explicitly taught during each session, or on an as-needed basis.

Math

Dyslexia Therapy

Reteaching and/or supplementing math instruction is based on grade-level TEKS, back-mapping as needed. As math becomes more language-based, the CUBES strategy is used as a springboard for solving word problems.
