Frequently Asked Questions
What is the benefit of tutoring?
Tutoring provides a means of building confidence and self-esteem through personalized instruction that includes feedback in real-time. An email detailing what was covered, along with performance notes, is sent after each session.
When are tutoring sessions offered?
For students who are homeschooled or participate in a university model, morning and early afternoon sessions are available. For students who are enrolled in traditional school settings, late afternoon sessions are offered.
Some students participate in sessions year-round, while others receive support exclusively during the summer.
How is the tutoring plan developed?
The tutor starts by gathering information and input from the parent. During the first session, informal assessments may be conducted. The results would then be shared with the parent. Current baseline data is reviewed either for additional or stand alone input. A plan would then be proposed. Once approved, instruction is tailored to address areas of need.
What are the delivery options?
Tutoring can be virtual, in person, or a combination of online and face-to-face.
