About Gina Sauter Baker

Gina earned a Master of Arts in Teaching with a concentration in Special Education from Goucher College in 2004. She taught at the elementary level, and was a special education case manager for several years. In 2010, she went on to complete a Post-Baccalaureate Professional Development Certificate in Reading Instruction and became a Reading Specialist. Since then, Gina has been heavily involved in Response to Intervention in the area of reading. This includes assessing and monitoring students who are at-risk for dyslexia, as well as delivering Tier 3 instruction using a multisensory structured language intervention. She is a Certified Academic Language Therapist (CALT) who is trained in Take Flight, Orton-Gillingham and Fundations (Wilson).

During her career, Gina has also served as a Math Interventionist. She is well-versed in the elementary TEKS, and knows the importance of back-mapping in order to help close learning gaps.
